Kerrie Kortis
Kerrie Kortis R.S.S.W., B.S.W., M.S.W., R.S.W. has spent over 15 years working as the Clinical Director at Cedar Centre (formerly operating as York Region Abuse Program). She is a Compassion Fatigue Specialist and trauma educator who works with a range of modalities including Trauma-Focused CBT, Somatic Experiencing and EMDR.
Kerrie provides training, consultation and clinical supervision to individuals and a range of community-based organizations. She is also a therapist in private practice.
Themes related to tri-phasic and trauma-informed education, developing services that are equitable for people of all identities and supporting front-line staff are the focus of her work. She conceptualizes her practice using an anti-racist/anti-oppressive framework that validates an individual’s experiences of oppression (based on their race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, social locations, identities, personal traits or choices) as a form of trauma.

Alison Peck, B.Sc., MA, RYT-500, TCTSY-F
Alison Peck, B.Sc., MA, RYT-500, TCTSY-F has worked for over 15 years as the Executive Director of Cedar Centre, a trauma-specific service agency serving York Region and many of the surrounding regions without like services.
She is a Tramatologist and Compassion Fatigue Specialist and has a passion for working with organizations and helping professionals that are committed to learning how to working in trauma-informed and trauma-sensitive ways.
In addition to her teaching and consulting work, Alison is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, and a current Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator. Her private work includes both group and individual applications of embodied practices with people who are seeking to develop a compassionate relationship with their bodies, both for enjoyment, discovery, and as an adjunct to therapy.
